This module was my favourite this semester because of the 3 projects involved in it. Every brief that was presented made me enjoy the course even more because they all came with challenges; and I know that I can only learn and progress by challenging myself.

The weekly lectures were all very insightful and very applicable to all the projects that were done. Although there were times when I was behind on my weekly notes because I was too hyperfixated on my projects and my other module. I feel as though this semester involved a lot of group stuff and I quite liked that. It’d be very nice to see more of this in future modules because I believe group projects promote connection and open mindedness.

The semester started with the smart watch app. This was very interesting as I had neve done a smart watch UI before. The research I did was quire insightful and I feel as though I know more about the functionality of smartwatches. What I liked about this project was short time frame as it spiked my eustress (good stress); another thing I liked was the fact that we were told we had the option to incorporate cutting edge futuristic technology that doesn’t exist yet.

The second project we did was the AV project. This project gave me a lot of anxiety because Kyle had shown us Noah Weston’s work and my friend Ethan and I looked at each other in awe. We knew we had to outperfom him so we both got very enthusiastic about this project. There was a lot of interesting content in my research that I will definetley mention as fun facts from now on in random conversations. The digital creation process was so much fun. Ethan and I would sit on facetime and work together and I feel as though having a competitive friend pushed me to do my utmost best in this project. Overall I enjoyed it very much and gained a lot of insightful knowledge.

The last project of the semester was the SDG project which I’d say was equally as fun as the AV project. I had a lot of fun throughout all the processes of this project but one that I enjoyed the most was creating my own design elements and animation them with the components knowledge I gained from one of Ronan’s tutorial classes; those classes were very helpful and I’d like to have more of them in future modules. This was my first time ever creating a game on Figma, I enjoyed it a lot and I tried my best to make my tone of voice suiting to my demographic.

This module had a lot of variety in it and I think that’s why I enjoyed it a lot. All the projects I did in the 12 weeks have taught me a lot of valuable lessons that I look forward to carrying in to my second semester.
