Project Proposal

Project Name: UniHustle

Context: Many university students struggle to find part-time jobs that fit around their academic schedules. Fixed shifts and strict working hours often make it difficult for students to balance work, studies, and personal life. At the same time, many companies need flexible workers for short shifts or specific hours. UniHustle aims to bridge this gap.

Project Summary: UniHustle is a digital platform designed to connect university students with companies offering flexible part-time work. The app will allow students to search, apply for, and book temporary or short-term shifts that accommodate their academic schedule and personal life.

Students will create profiles highlighting their availability, skills, and work preferences. Companies will list available shifts, specifying job roles. The app will use an intelligent matching system to recommend jobs that align with students' schedules. A built-in rating system will ensure transparency and accountability for both students and employers.

Besides job opportunities, UniHustle will feature budgeting and financial management tools to help students track their earnings and expenses. A section of the app will provide financial tips, job interview advice, and time management strategies.

By enabling students to earn money without compromising their studies, UniHustle aims to reduce financial stress and enhance their overall university experience. The project will focus on user-friendly design, ensuring seamless navigation for students and businesses.

Outcome: UniHustle will provide a digital solution that makes it easier for students to find flexible part-time work, helping them manage finances while balancing university life. Companies will benefit from a reliable pool of student workers to meet their staffing needs.

Steps that will be taken:

  1. Research & Planning (Weeks 1-3): Conduct user research on students' work preferences and employer needs. Define key features and technical requirements.
  2. Wireframing & Prototyping (Weeks 4-6): Develop wireframes and interactive prototypes, focusing on user experience and functionality.
  3. Development & Testing (Weeks 7-12): Build the app's core functionality, integrate job-matching algorithms, and conduct usability tests with students and businesses.
  4. Final Refinements & Launch (Weeks 13-15): Improve UI/UX based on feedback, finalize features, and prepare for a beta launch.

UniHustle will offer a streamlined and efficient way for students to access flexible work, reducing financial stress and improving their university experience.
