I have been given 10 typefaces:
-Garamond
-Caslon
-Helvetica
-Futura
-Merriweather
-Gotham
-Proxima Nova
-Abril Fatface
-Shirkland
Out of these ten I’ve been instructed to choose and research three modern ones typefaces, henceforth I will be doing my researches on Merriweather, Abril Fatface, and Proxima Nova.
Merriweather:
A modern serif typeface released by Eben Sorkin in 2012 after he incorporated Sorkin Type in 2011 and since then they have made 60 open source fonts for Google Fonts. Sorkin Type fonts are made to support a variety languages, and thanks to their versatility, their style is entirely dependent on the clients needs
The font has excellent readability because it was designed to be a text face that is pleasant to read on screens, text books, and article headlines, making it suitable for both print and web design.
Most likely often used for body text in digital publications in this modern era
