For this interview I decided to conduct some qualitive research; for this I did a interview. Below are the questions I drafted for my interview. I recorded this interview on my phone and placed the transcript of roughly 12min in this notion blog.
Q-
Do you can only use any smartphone devices? If so, which ones?
A-
I do. So I have a a range of smartphone devices. I have a multiple light bulbs that are smart. I can control them from an app from my phone. I have the curtains, so I can remotely close curtains. I believe the oven and the washing machine. But personally, well, for one, I don't know how to work the washing machine. In the oven, I just do it myself because that scares me doing it from a phone in case it like, like if I go to turn the oven off and it, like, you know, well, like the Bluetooth just randomly disconnects and the oven doesn't turn off. And I have no hikes. You know what I mean? Because I have a range of smartphone devices and I use them a lot more regularly than I thought I initially would whenever I first purchased them.
Q-
What do you like most about your current smart home setup?
A-
Well, I was thinking about this the other night and whenever I get in bed at night, I've had my shower, I get in bed, I like to get in bed with a cup of tea. I like to watch something before I go to bed., a bowl of grapes and I like to just relax. And I'll keep my lamp on, which is across my room, because I like to have like light but minimal light light. So I have my smart lamp. So it allows me to do that without having to get up and down. However, I was thinking the other night how that before I had this, I would have had to like actually move my body to turn a light off. And I was thinking like, ugh, like, like, I didn't like that anymore. And I was like, wow, like, I'm getting lazy. I don't even want to turn my light off because like, I'm getting sleepy and I'm like, okay, it's too bright now. So I want to I want to turn my light off. I just go on my phone. I just turn the light off instead of having to actually get up, which I think it is a good thing. It's convenient. But at one point, at what point where do we draw a line, it's like, okay, we actually need to move for some things because everything can just be controlled through our film now. Okay.
