Story telling are more memorable than plain facts. A brand is more likely to have more engagement if they show a few short stories of how their product would benefit users. Through story telling companies can gain empathy and understand their users, this helps build a well functioning and purpose serving product; it also helps address a problem that needs solving, and this is one of the ways companies companies attract users in their adverts, they show a user in need of their product and how the product gets them the goal they so desire.

When it comes to storytelling the outcome must be concise and realistic and it is very helpful to incorporate emotions. The use of texts and arrows also helps provide context.

Site Mapping

The second exercise we did was making a sitemap for the AV project. This was a very exciting step in the process of this project because it meant that I could finally pour out all my ideas and write down all the features I thought would be necessary in an autonomous vehicle.

Sitemap is done when structuring the UI of a product. It helps develop teh navigation of the UI for a good user experience.

Reflection

Overall this has been a very productive week as I’ve been able to build a foundation for my AV project. Through story telling I know what tine of voice to use and exactly how my product with benefit users, and the sitemapping exercise has made me realise all the work I have ahead of me and I am very much looking forward to it. If I end up adding more to the AV UI I will make sure to add it into the sitemap to ensure consistency throughout this project.
