This week’s lecture was another insightful one as we learned about what touchpoints are and what are some of the touch points to use for our target audience. My understanding of touchpoint is the point at which someone first sees or interacts with your brand or company. This can be through family, friends, social media adverts, or physical adverts such as billboards, banners or business cards. Since we’re creating an app based app our touchpoints will primarily on social media, merchandise, or even friends and family because I strongly believe that people download apps through social media and recommendations from family and friends, for example I come across a lot of jewellery adverts on Instagram stories when I’m viewing other people’s stories.

Something valuable I’ve taken from today’s lecture is how important touchpoints are as they help get your company or brand out there to the world, they help attract customers and give them a sense of what your brand is about through your imagery and tone of voice.

After we were taught about touchpoints we were asked to create a mock-up of our choice that could be used as a touchpoint for our bank and since I am creating a banking app the first thing that came to mind was to create a bank card mock-up

These are some of the bank cards I created. The help of the feedback I was given by my tutor helped me place the wordmark and the letter “P” on the right sides of the card and I am proud and happy of how it looks. I think it looks like a bank card someone in my age group would like.

After creating the bank cards in class I decided to create some more mock-ups for my touchpoints when I got home, and as I previously mentioned some of the major touchpoints for this online banking will be advertised on banners or bilboards.

I created the background of the banner using figma, this was tedious and yet fun at the same time

This was the first banner. I chose to not go along with the simple letter “P” because it doesn’t say much, hence I decided to place the actual name of the bank on the banner as people won’t be familiar with the new brand

The random lines signal communication and fast transactions as I want there to be crystal clear communication between the bank and its users
