In todays class we covered what colours are appropriate and which ones to consider in the design process of our banking app; I learned the meaning of CMYK and how it’s only used in printing, we also covered how CMYK colours are used in a printing press and how the plates need to be calibrated and aligned for a clear image, whereas RGB is only used on screens, this one isn’t new knowledge though.

We also covered what some colours represent and the importance of learning the meaning and making sure they align with your brand values before using them, for example when designing for a company it is important to learn about their brand guideline values in order to be able create something fitting for the company.

What I am to do is find colours that align with my brand values with the help of the Adobe colour wheel, I’ll be explaining why I chose the colours and what they represent. Since my brand will be standing for Youthfulness, Reliability, Trustworthiness, Innovativeness, and Supportiveness

This weeks content was very insightful despite having learned about the use of colour in previous classes, I think something new I learned today was the meaning of CMYK and how it’s only used for printing, another useful thing I learned is the accessibility feature in the Adobe Colour Wheel site, this feature will allow me to choose the adequate colours that will be visible to those who are visually impaired. We were also given some resources which I found pretty helpful as this will serve to inspire me in future projects.
